Two motions of censure*

The authors of the two motions will take the floor first, followed by Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and one round of political group speakers. The two votes, by roll call, will take place on Thursday. To be adopted, a motion must secure a two-thirds majority of the votes cast, representing a majority of the component members.
New rules to suspend visa-free travel to the EU*
In an evening debate starting at around 20.00, MEPs and Internal Affairs and Migration Commissioner Magnus Brunner will discuss changes to the EU’s visa suspension mechanism agreed with Council in June. The reform will allow the European Commission to move faster to end visa-free travel from countries considered to pose security risks or to be in breach of human rights law. The mechanism concerns 61 countries whose nationals can currently travel to the Schengen area without a visa for short stays. The final plenary vote on the new legislation is scheduled for Tuesday at noon.
