Ms. Camellia Chan
CEO and Co-Founder of Flexxon (Singapore)
Flexxon is a Singapore-based leader in AI-driven hardware-based cybersecurity protecting businesses from zero-day attacks and data theft.
After winning the WIPO Global Award, CEO Camellia Chan was recognized on Prestige’s Women of Power 2024 List and honored with the Singapore Computer Society’s SG 100 Women in Tech award.
During their mentorship, Flexxon partnered with Louis Foreman, CEO of Enventys Partners, to refine their IP strategy. Flexxon successfully streamlined its patent application and approval processes in the European Union, resulting in significant cost savings and improved efficiency in protecting its innovations.
The mentorship aligned our IP strategy with our growth objectives, enabling us to engage investors more successfully and scale our platform.
Mike Strano
CEO & Co-Founder from Yakwetu (Kenya)
Yakwetu is an innovative online entertainment and edutainment platform distributing digital content in Kenya. It became the first African business, and the first from the Creative Industry, to win the WIPO Global Awards.
As part of the program, Yakwetu received mentorship from Martin Nielsen, co-founder and CEO of Mdundo, a leading African music service. His guidance helped the company optimize its IP commercialization strategy, enhance its approach to fundraising, refine product usage, drive significant revenue growth.

Public announcement of finalists | April – May
The WIPO Secretariat will review all applications and shortlist up to 25 outstanding finalists.
International jury deliberations | June
Ten exceptional winners will be selected by a diverse, independent international jury (https://wipo.us8.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ebfb4bd1ae698020adc01a4ce&id=a822628b69&e=33ca93a169) composed of experts in industries, IP, innovation, investment, and business development.
Awards Ceremony | July
Winners, along with jury members, mentors, sponsors, and other high-level participants, will be honored during the prestigious Awards Ceremony in Geneva, held during the WIPO General Assembly.
About the Global Awards
The WIPO Global Awards (https://wipo.us8.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ebfb4bd1ae698020adc01a4ce&id=38a204e7f5&e=33ca93a169), the UN Award for inventors and creators, were launched in 2022 and are rooted in WIPO’s mission.
The annual Awards contest is organized for applicants originating from WIPO’s 193 Member States and diverse economic sectors. Initially inclusive of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the contest introduced a new category for startups in 2024.
