The United States congratulates the people of Mauritius for their dedication to the democratic process and the newly elected government on its election victory. We look forward to working with Prime Minister-Elect Dr. Navin Ramgoolam on strengthening our bilateral ties.  By expanding our partnership and deepening our cooperation, we can promote democracy, economic growth, and regional security to the benefit of both our countries and the Indian Ocean region.
