The Library of Congress is accepting applications for a Supervisory Accountant, GS-14, until November 21, 2022.
The Supervisory Senior Operating Accountant serves under the general direction of the Accounting Operations Officer, who reports to the Comptroller. The incumbent serves as the direct, first-line supervisor for a portion of the staff assigned to the Accounting Operations Division and assists the Accounting Operations Officer in the overall planning, direction and coordination of the activities of the Accounting Operations Division.
The Accounting Operations Division is responsible for processing the majority of invoices and various other payments for the Library, managing the travel program, managing the purchase and travel card programs, financial administration of grants, fellowships and honorariums, IPAC document processing; which includes inbound and outbound transactions, IPP e-invoicing system administration, vendor file maintenance and processing de-obligation requests.
The incumbent is responsible for performing several duties in support of the office in addition to supervising the accounts payable staff, providing support to the Travel Office as needed, coordinating processing of special payments, certifying payments, monitoring interfaces with external systems, approving de-obligations, monitoring ERP tables and daily reports, preparing productivity reports, post payment reviews and coordinating Accounting Operations tasks for system upgrades and/or new system implementations.
