The Library of Congress is accepting applications for a Supervisory Interior Designer, GS-13, until August 15, 2022.
This position is located in the Space Utilization Planning and Design Section, Facility Services Division, Integrated Support Services Directorate, Chief Operating Officer.
This position serves as the Design Supervisor for Space Utilization Planning & Design (SUPD), Facility Services Division, Integrated Services Support Directorate, Library of Congress (LC). The incumbent works under the general supervision of the SUPD Manager. SUPD has overall responsibility for all tenant fit-out and office design for over 4 million square feet and liaison with the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) on design projects under AOC control. Additionally, SUPD provides design advice on all new LC construction projects. Work is carried out independently with the incumbent receiving policy guidance and work guidelines in terms of broad general objectives. Incumbent executes assignments that often involve organizing and managing several separate subordinate projects that must be carried out concurrently. The incumbent will provide direction or guidance to staff or contract personnel assisting/supporting projects and tasks and may work as a part of the team on projects. Work is largely evaluated in terms of work accomplished especially when uniquely different or sensitive projects are involved. Completed work is reviewed and evaluated in terms of overall effectiveness in achieving the goals of soundness of overall approach, conformance with controlling management policies, thoroughness, quality of results, and timeliness of completion.
