(AGENPARL) - Roma, 10 Febbraio 2026(AGENPARL) – Tue 10 February 2026 PRESS RELEASE
ITA Airways at the Borsa Internazionale del Turismo (BIT)
Summer 2026: 72 destinations, including 19 domestic, 36 international and 17 intercontinental
Milan, 10 February 2026 – ITA Airways participates in the Borsa Internazionale del Turismo (BIT), the
international tourism fair taking place in Milan from 10 to 12 February and will showcase its offering at a
branded stand located in Hall 9 of the exhibition centre.
The booth has been designed to embody ITA Airways’ brand identity through a creative approach that
combines functionality and aesthetics, with graphics highlighting the airline’s role as Official Airline Sponsor
of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
BIT represents an important opportunity for ITA Airways to present its Summer 2026 season, which will
feature a comprehensive programme with a total of 72 destinations, including 19 domestic, 36 international
and 17 intercontinental routes, as well as 12 seasonal destinations to Italian, Greek and Spanish islands: 3
domestic and 9 international.
From the start of the Summer 2026 season, ITA Airways will resume flights to London Heathrow (LHR). The
new connection from Rome Fiumicino to the British capital will further enhance connectivity between Italy
and the United Kingdom’s largest international hub and will be operated with two daily frequencies.
From 1 May 2026, a new intercontinental flight to Houston, United States, will be launched. This will be the
first direct connection ever between Rome Fiumicino and the Texan city, operated with three weekly flights,
increasing to five from June.
Houston will become ITA Airways’ ninth destination in the North American market, which will be further
strengthened by an increase in weekly frequencies to Miami, rising from 7 to 9 from June, in continuity with
the current winter season offering.
The summer schedule also includes new direct flights from Rome Fiumicino to Malaga, Valencia and
Marseille, as well as an increase of seven flights per week on the Rome Fiumicino–Tunis route between
June and September.
For Summer 2026, seasonal routes will also include Olbia–Turin and Olbia–Genoa, operating in August with
a weekly frequency on Saturdays.
ITA Airways confirms its commitment to ensuring a consistent, high-quality network, which is essential to
providing extensive air connectivity and access to major domestic and international destinations.
Specifically, these two new routes expand regional connectivity through efficient operations, frequencies
aligned with demand and high service standards, benefiting both residents and tourists.
At the same time, the integration process of ITA Airways into the Lufthansa Group continues, involving 63
projects aimed at generating benefits in terms of increased revenues and cost reductions. Over the past
year, several synergies have already been implemented, including:
• codeshare flights, providing access to over 150 destinations;
• cooperation between the Volare and Miles & More loyalty programmes;
• reciprocal access to the Group’s and ITA Airways’ airport lounges;
• optimisation of flight and handling operations at the Group’s hubs;
• an agreement for cargo traffic management;
• alignment of fare class structures;
• reduction of GDS system costs;
• a Group agreement with Starlink for the provision of high-speed connectivity.
Tickets for all ITA Airways flights are available on ita-airways.com, on the ITA Airways app and on the
Airline’s official sales channels.
