12 June – 6 September 2026
Curated by Samuel Leuenberger
Chloe Wise major Swiss exhibition unveils
new work in situ.
In her upcoming solo-exhibition, Canadian artist
Chloe Wise explores the sublime through the
interplay of film, sculpture and painting. She asks
how we perceive reality—and what lies hidden
beyond the reach of our senses and language. What
we call consensus reality is in truth a shifting field of
vibrating waves and particles, shaped into order by
perception and storytelling. Yet the very tools that
allow us to construct the world also blind us to what
cannot be named. Drawing on philosophy,
mythology, and contemporary culture, Wise reflects
on phenomena that resist definition, from the
poetic to the uncanny, from angels to UFOs. The
exhibition opens a dreamlike space where
metaphor and imagination invite us to approach
the ineffable—experiences that remain beyond
words, yet profoundly felt.
Lucian Freud: Drawing into
Painting
National Portrait Gallery
12 February – 4 May 2026
Lucian Freud: Drawing into Painting will be the
UK’s first museum exhibition to focus on the
artist’s works on paper, including some works
seen on display for the first time.
Lucian Freud (1922-2011) achieved recognition
as one of Britain’s foremost figurative painters,
celebrated for his clinically raw and intensely
observed portraits and nude studies. Freud’s
working practice, artistic techniques and
processes, alongside his dedication to the
genre of portraiture all contribute to his
popularity as an artist.
Michelangelo’s
David in the Alps
Klosters
2. July – 31. October 2026
Presented by Scultura Viva
Scultura Viva presents one of the rare full-scale
marble copies of Michelangelo’s David—carved
from Carrara marble
sourced from the same quarries used by
Michelangelo—installed outdoors in Klosters by
the Swiss Alps for the first
time.
The project positions Klosters as an
international cultural destination, placing one
of the most powerful icons of
Renaissance humanism in direct dialogue with
Alpine landscape, craftsmanship, and
contemporary cultural
discourse.
