(AGENPARL) - Roma, 9 Gennaio 2026(AGENPARL) – Fri 09 January 2026 City Announces Updates to Shelf Ready ADU Plans
The City of Sacramento has updated its free shelf ready Accessory Dwelling Unit plans to provide additional flexibility, reduce construction costs, and support more efficient project delivery.
The following options are now permitted in each model:
Optional ductless mini-split systemsShelf ready plans may now include ductless mini-split heating and cooling systems as an alternative to fully ducted systems. Mini-splits are typically easier to install, can be lower in cost, and offer flexibility for projects with limited space or site constraints.Optional premanufactured roof trussesPlans now allow for the use of premanufactured roof trusses. This option can reduce framing labor requirements and help shorten construction timelines. These updates are intended to make shelf ready plans more adaptable to real-world construction conditions while maintaining applicable building and safety standards.
Updated plans and additional information are available on the City’s ADU Resource Center.
