Virtual press conference on the upcoming 72nd session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean and 2 years of conflict in Gaza

What: The Seventy-second session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean comes at a critical time for the Region. This press conference will cover key discussions and expected resolutions from the annual event, including on polio eradication, protecting children from preventable diseases, strengthening health system recovery, advancing access to medicines, addressing substance use and new regional initiatives on climate and health and breast cancer.
Marking 2 years of conflict in Gaza, the briefing will highlight the latest developments on the ground, where the health system remains under severe strain amid ongoing peace talks.
