Discover a pioneering playwright
The British Library has acquired the archive of pioneering Black playwright, Mustapha Matura (1939-2019). From a 1970s play about Notting Hill Carnival to a script on Trinidadian gangster Boysie Singh, it’s packed with hidden gems. Once catalogued it will be available for everyone to explore.

Celebrate green spaces

Follow our community activities
We love meeting people in our community and this year’s Somers Town Festival was the perfect place to get properly acquainted with our neighbours in Camden. We ran a range of activities for locals, including a workshop on how to create a decorative paper garden with scented summer flowers – inspired by our exhibition Unearthed.
