MEPs reject motion of censure against the European Commission [24]
With 175 votes in favour, 360 against, and 18 abstentions, the European Parliament rejected a motion of censure against the Commission on Thursday.
The vote on the motion [25] took place by roll call. To be adopted, a two-thirds majority of the votes cast, representing a majority of component Members of Parliament, would have been needed.

Background*
According to Parliament’s Rules of Procedure [27], a motion of censure against the Commission may be submitted to the President by one 10th of the component Members of Parliament, i.e. 72 MEPs.
