Il Team Althea Racing archivia con segnali positivi il weekend del Round di Misano del Campionato Mondiale Supersport, disputatosi dal 13 al 15 giugno sul circuito intitolato a Marco Simoncelli. Un fine settimana caratterizzato da un caldo incredibile, con temperature elevate che hanno messo a dura prova piloti, moto e team, senza però rallentare la determinazione dei due portacolori del team.
Scattato dalla 19ª posizione in griglia in entrambe le gare, Leonardo Taccini ha mostrato solidità e ritmo. In Gara 1, ha chiuso 12° dopo aver scontato una penalità di due posizioni per un contatto alla partenza, penalità che ha rispettato immediatamente nei primi giri. Purtroppo, questo lo ha rallentato in una fase in cui aveva già margine sui due piloti alle sue spalle, facendogli perdere terreno nel gruppo. In Gara 2, Taccini è stato protagonista di un’ottima rimonta fino alla 10ª posizione, e stava girando con lo stesso passo dei primi. La gara è però stata interrotta con bandiera rossa, proprio mentre aveva il ritmo per continuare a scalare posizioni.
Simon Jespersen, al via dalla 18ª casella, ha confermato la sua costanza, con una 15ª posizione in Gara 1 e 14ª in Gara 2, portando a casa punti utili e mostrando progressi nella gestione della gara in condizioni estreme.
Il Team Althea guarda ora con fiducia al prossimo appuntamento del calendario WorldSSP, in programma a Donington Park dall’11 al 13 luglio, con l’obiettivo di confermare i progressi visti in questo weekend infuocato di Misano.
The Althea Racing Team wraps up the Misano World Supersport Round with positive signs, held from June 13th to 15th at the Marco Simoncelli Circuit. It was a weekend marked by scorching heat, with high temperatures putting riders, bikes, and teams to the test—without, however, affecting the determination of the team’s two riders.
Starting from 19th position on the grid in both races, Leonardo Taccini showed consistency and strong pace. In Race 1, he finished 12th after serving a two-position penalty for a contact at the start, which he took immediately in the opening laps. Unfortunately, this slowed him down at a stage where he already had a gap over the two riders behind, causing him to lose ground in the group. In Race 2, Taccini was the protagonist of an impressive comeback up to 10th place, lapping with the same pace as the front-runners. However, the race was red-flagged prematurely, just as he had the pace to continue climbing positions.
Simon Jespersen, who started from 18th on the grid, confirmed his consistency with a 15th-place finish in Race 1 and 14th in Race 2, collecting valuable points and showing progress in managing the race under extreme conditions.
The Althea Team now looks ahead with confidence to the next WorldSSP round at Donington Park, scheduled for July 11–13, with the goal of building on the progress shown during this sweltering weekend at Misano.
“Il bilancio del weekend è positivo. Nonostante un inizio un po’ in salita, grazie al grande lavoro del team siamo riusciti a raddrizzare la situazione.
In Gara 1 il passo era ottimo; purtroppo un contatto a inizio gara mi ha costretto a tagliare curva 1 e la penalità che ne è seguita ha limitato un po’ la rimonta.
In Gara 2 è andata ancora meglio: mi sentivo davvero bene con la moto e il passo gara era molto buono. Siamo riusciti a rimontare bene, anche se un mio errore e la bandiera rossa ci hanno fermati alla P10. Sappiamo però che il potenziale è alto e continuiamo a lavorare in questa direzione.”
“Overall, it was a positive weekend. Despite a bit of a tough start, we managed to turn things around thanks to the great work from the team.
In Race 1, the pace was strong; unfortunately, a contact at the beginning of the race forced me to cut Turn 1, and the resulting penalty limited my comeback a bit.
Race 2 went even better: I felt really good on the bike and had a very solid race pace. We managed to climb up well, even though a small mistake on my part and the red flag stopped us at P10.
We know the potential is high, and we’ll keep working in this direction.”

“È stato un weekend davvero impegnativo, con un caldo che ha messo tutti alla prova. Il venerdì delle qualifiche è stato un po’ complicato. Nonostante questo, i ragazzi hanno risposto bene in entrambe le gare. Leonardo ha dimostrato grande determinazione e avrebbe potuto ottenere di più senza l’interruzione della gara.
Simon ha portato a casa punti importanti e lavorato in modo costruttivo e costante tutto il fine settimana. Continuiamo su questa strada con fiducia.”
“It was a really challenging weekend, with intense heat that tested everyone. Friday’s qualifying session was a bit complicated. Despite that, the riders responded well in both races.
Leonardo showed great determination and could have achieved even more without the race interruption. Simon brought home important points and worked in a constructive and consistent way throughout the weekend. We’ll keep moving forward with confidence.”
