Win for Northgate Boulevard!
In February 2023, City Council approved the Northgate Boulevard Transportation Plan. This plan reflects the vision of the Gardenland and Northgate communities for Northgate Boulevard and includes important safety and mobility improvements.
We are glad to announce that this project was recommended by Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) staff, supported by the SACOG Transportation Committee and will be going to the SACOG Board for final approval of funding for preliminary engineering and environmental clearance. Thank you to the Gardenland Northgate communities for all your support uplifting this project.

Introducing the Vision Zero Crash Dashboard
The City of Sacramento Department of Public Works is proud to unveil its next step in making streets safer for all. We have been hard at work not only planning, designing, and building transportation projects, but also working to bring you the data tools you asked for in the Vision Zero Action Plan.
This effort has led to the creation of Public Work’s newest product, the City of Sacramento’s Crash Dashboard. With this tool, Sacramento’s communities can see where the crashes occur, and the factors involved.
The Vision Zero Crash Dashboard includes tools that allow users to see crashes by severity, mode of transportation, and other factors. It also includes layers highlighting disadvantaged communities, neighborhoods that lack basic transportation infrastructure, and more. There are charts illustrating trends such as by time of day or trends over years.
The dashboard currently includes data from January 2013 to September 2023. As we get more data, it will be added.
If you or someone you know is interested in exploring the Crash Dashboard, visit the City’s Vision Zero webpage to learn more.
