CUT launches Student Women Economic Empowerment Programme Chapter

The Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) will launch of the institutions chapter of the Student Women Economic Empowerment Programme, affectionately known as SWEEP. This launch signifies a significant step towards gender equality and empowerment at the university.
The SWEEP chapters aim to create a supportive environment for women students, focusing on entrepreneurship, leadership development, and addressing issues gender-based violence. What’s particularly exciting is that SWEEP chapters operate in 19 public universities, ensuring that a large group of women students benefit from the program. This initiative is made possible through a collaboration between the British Council and the Entrepreneurship Development in Higher Education (EDHE) Programme – an arm of the Department of Higher Education and Training dedicated to driving student and graduate entrepreneurship.
The CUT chapters vision is to create an inclusive, supportive safe space for women students and to breathe life into their entrepreneurial dreams.
