(AGENPARL) – ven 21 giugno 2024 Dear Community Members,
The City of Sacramento Historic Preservation Office is excited to announce the release of the draft document for the Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Objective Design Standards Project, specifically focused on historic properties. We are seeking your valuable feedback and invite you to attend an upcoming Preservation Commission meeting to discuss these standards.
Project Overview: The ADU Objective Design Standards Project aims to develop a set of clear, objective design guidelines to ensure that ADUs within historic districts or on landmark properties are compatible with their historic surroundings. This initiative strives to balance the city’s need for increased housing density with the preservation of Sacramento’s rich architectural heritage.
Why Objective Standards? Objective standards provide consistent guidelines that streamline the approval process, helping to protect our architectural heritage while supporting urban growth. The need for objective standards are also being driven by state mandates to ministerially approve accessory dwelling units without any subjective review by the City or community input.
