The pre-election period starts from midnight tonight so for the next few weeks the HMCTS Update will only include essential operational updates. We will only release new editions if there are operational updates to share.

This aims allow more cases to be heard locally and ensure the community can access services closer to home.

Civil
Mediation for small money claims
From 22 May 2024, parties in money claims up to the value of £10,000 must take part in a free one-hour mediation appointment, provided by our Small Claims Mediation Service.
