Puglia Longevity tour in Sternatia, a pretty village filled with “Greek Nonni”
On the way back from your networking sessions, we will visit Sternatia, an out-of-time village where the local dialect is
Griko, a language based on Ancient Greek and dated back to the pre-Roman days when the Greeks were there.
Accompanied by our special hosts, “Greek Nonni”, you will visit this petite village famous for its ancient underground
mill, one of the biggest in Salento. We will then visit an exclusive and publicly inaccessible Castle with its sumptuous
18th-century garden while tasting delicious sweets prepared by local Mamma. A once-in-a-lifetime experience in the
evocative atmosphere of a charming location where time stood still over the past century.

This morning you will journey back into the past of this mystic land against the backdrop of a stunning historic location
in the heart of the old town. The journey back in time will be accompanied to the sound of tambourines anticipating the
contemplative pizzica dance. Today’s talented dancers also performed during Dior fashion show in Lecce in 2020 and
will invite you to learn the steps following the evocative music.

Before you leave the Chiostro, buyers and press are invited to immerse themselves in the traditions of Puglia. The Italian
natives of the south, proudly refer to themselves as “terroni” due to their fierce pride and connection with the land and
its rich heritage in crafts and gastronomy. For centuries, many traditions, that harness the natural resources of the land
and the seasons have been practiced with stunning results. Join our local heroes, get hands-on, and find your inner
‘terrone.
