CUT to host its first ever Intellectual Property Hackathon

The Central University of Technology, Free State’s (CUT) Tech Transfer Office (TTO) will be hosting the institutions first ever Intellectual Property Hackathon; a three-day training programme called IP-athon (Intellectual Property Hackathon), which will be facilitated by Mashauri Limited.
The programme will run from 1 – 3 September 2023, and it is aimed at affording CUT’s unemployed graduates an opportunity to pitch their business cases on how they can commercialize the already existing CUT’s technologies/products (CUT’s IP).
40 selected participants will undergo an intense two-and-a-half-day event. The ultimate goal is to identify and select 10 participants with the highest potential following the pitching session to form two spin-off ventures with.
Th programme will be facilitated by Simon Gifford, a multifaceted leader with extensive expertise in three critical domains, namely: Strategic Consulting Prowess; Revolutionizing Entrepreneurial Education and Educator Extraordinaire.
