WELCOME
The Italian Para Swimming Federation is pleased to invite all the NPCs and clubs to take
part in the first edition of the World Para Swimming Open Water Cup that will be held in the
town of San Teodoro in Sardinia from September 22nd to 24th 2023. The Organizing
Committee will make every effort to welcome the swimmers and the staff of your federation
/ club in the best possible way.

Visas
It is responsibility of each nation or club to ensure that they have the proper
documentation to enter Italy. If you require a Visa to enter Italy, please send an e-mail
listing all the participants, their roles, their passport numbers and expiration dates to
The request of a Visa support letter does not automatically grant the participation in the
competition. Participation in the competition is allowed only after submitting the entries
in the entry system.

Transport
LOC will grant the transportation service. The cost of the transportation service is
included in the entry fee.
Accommodation
In order to book your accommodation, you can send the attached accommodation and
transport form directly the travel agency, by August 20th to the following address:

Competition Fee
The competition fee is € 75 per athlete
The Deadline for the payment is September 4th 2023
Invoices and payment details will be sent to each participant by e-mail after the entries
are closed.
Cancellation:
Before September 1st, 100 % will be refunded. After this date there is no refund.

LOC accepts entries after the closing date. All late entries need to be communicated
to both LOC and WPS through an email to previous contacts. An extra fee of 20% could
be charged.

One set of medals for M/F for each group will be allocated based on the Italian Open
Water Point System. This system has been developed according to the long course world
records of 200 m freestyle (from S3 to S6) and 400 m freestyle (from S7 to S14).
Athlete Eligibility
No MQS are required.
Rules & Regulations
Swimmers must hold an active World Para Swimming license for 2023 Season.
To compete in the Sardinia 2023 World Para Swimming Open Water Cup, an
athlete must have an International Classification status of Review (R), Fixed Date
Review (FDR) or Confirmed (C) or New (N)
For athlete with status N there will be a separate ranking and no prize award
a medical self-declaration that complies with the Italian law is ask to all
partecipants athletes and guide (in attach)
For all open water events the current World Para Swimming Rules and Regulations
apply. They can be found on the World Para Swimming website (see Swimming –
Rules & Regulations – Rules).

COMPETITION INFORMATION
Technical Meeting
A technical meeting will be on September 22 nd (more information will be circulated
later on). On this occasion, info will be given about the call area, the swimwear (caps,
goggles and swimsuits) that must be from the approved list and might be checked in
the call area.
ANTI-DOPING AND MEDICAL INFORMATION
Anti-Doping
The Anti-Doping control / processes will be carried out in full accordance with the
IPC Anti-Doping Code and the IPC Doping Control Agreement.

Insurance
Each NPC must ensure that all members of their delegation are appropriately
insured, including coverage for travel, liability, accidents and repatriation. All
delegation members must have appropriate accident and health insurance accepted
in order to compete. The LOC will provide only basic medical services in the venue
No medical insurance will be provided to any of the participants. All participants are
responsible for obtaining their own medical insurance (including Repatriation
Coverage) and will be responsible for any medical expenses resulting from
participation in the event.
In case of bad weather
In case of bad weather, the organization reserves the opportunity to cancel the event
or, at the opinion of the chief judge or, in accordance with the Technical Delegate, the
possibility, as per the regulations, to unify one or more departures or to move the
competition field. Therefore, all athletes are recommended to be present on the
competition field within the timetable indicated.

08:30 am – Meeting of class S3-S6 participants at the Cinta San Teodoro beach
09:00 – start of the 1,500m race within the 3,000m circuit.
09:00 – Meeting of participants classes S7-S10 – S11-S13 – S14 at the Cinta San Teodoro

Award ceremony

other concomitant events:
at the same time the Italian open water Paralympic swimming championship (FINP
federation) and an open water swimming event for able-bodied (FIN federation) will take
place.
