Great Britain’s Ben Maher (Exit Remo), Tim Gredley (Medoc de Toxandria), John Whitaker (Equine America Unick du Francport) and Harry Charles (Casquo Blue) won the fifth and penultimate leg of the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ 2023 Europe Division 1 series on home ground at Hickstead (GBR) today.
Sharing the lead with Ireland and France on a four-fault tally going into the second round they added nothing more to finish in that order, Ireland completing with 12 for second place and France with a final total of 16 for third.
Sweden, USA, Germany, Brazil and Italy filled the remaining places, and today’s result promotes the British to third in the league standings behind Switzerland in second while Germany has moved to the top of the league table.
The sixth and last leg of this qualifying series will take place in Dublin (IRL) in two weeks’ time.

The Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cupâ„¢ is equestrian sport’s most prestigious team challenge, with teams from around the world competing for one of the most coveted prizes in the Olympic discipline.
Celebrating 114 years of team competition in 2023, the Final will be held in the beautiful city of Barcelona (ESP), at the Real Club de Polo, where up to 18 teams will have the opportunity to battle it out to hold the prestigious Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cupâ„¢ trophy aloft!
Longines
Longines has been based at Saint-Imier (SUI) since 1832. Its watchmaking expertise reflects a strong devotion to Elegance, Tradition and Performance. It has generations of experience as the official timekeeper at world championships and as a partner of international sports federations. Longines’ passion for equestrian sports began in 1878, when a timepiece was made with a horse and jockey engraved on the watch face.
