The Italian transmission grid operator has been included for the third consecutive year in the MIB
ESG, the Italian blue-chip index dedicated to ESG best practices
Terna has also been reconfirmed as one of the leading companies globally in the Euronext Vigeo,
FTSE4Good and S&P Developed 100 Gender Equality & Inclusion indices
Rome, 20 June 2023 – Terna is once again an Italian and global sustainability leader. The company
led by Giuseppina Di Foggia has confirmed its position in four of the most prestigious international
indices that select leading companies in terms of ESG best practices: the Italian MIB ESG index and
the international indices FTSE4Good, Euronext Vigeo and S&P Developed 100 Gender Equality &
Inclusion.
For the MIB ESG, the Italian blue-chip index launched in 2021, this is Terna’s third consecutive
inclusion amongst the best listed companies for environmental, social and governance sustainability
practices.
The MIB ESG integrates ESG impacts into measurement of economic performance in line with the
principle of the United Nations Global Compact. The companies are evaluated and selected based
on an assessment conducted by the Moody’s Analytics rating agency, which measures
approximately 300 indicators for 38 sustainability criteria. It considers specific KPIs (e.g. employee
turnover, direct CO2 emissions, percentage of female management) and policies implemented (e.g.
Code of ethics, human rights policy and diversity promotion policy). The latest ESG assessment by
Moody’s Analytics confirmed the highest level, “advanced”, for the Italian national grid operator.
