Russ Allen attended Stanford Law School in 1964.
Russell M. “Russ” Allen was born in Portland March 21, 1939, to John M. Allen and Lois (Balzer) (Allen) Tupling. He died May 2, 2018, in Portland. He attended Duniway Grade School and Cleveland High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University in 1961 and a J.D. degree from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1965. Russ is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years and caregiver, Joyce Allen; his children, Rodney and John Allen and Denise Eunson, all of Portland; Joyce’s daughters, Kristin Howell (Harold Carlston) of Portland, Meagan MacKay (Steve) of Tsawwassen B.C., and Aimee McAllister (Justin); six grand and stepgrandchildren; and siblings, Michael B. Allen, Sr., and Lucinda Blair, both of Portland.
Russ began his law practice in 1965 and retired in 2016, as a partner in Allen & Sheridan. His practice areas included transportation, business transaction and litigation, estate planning and probate. He was a member of the Oregon State Bar, the Multnomah County Bar Association, the Transportation Lawyers Association and the Estate Planning Council of Portland. Russ was a golfer from a very early age. Among his favorite experiences were many golf trips with friends to Scotland, Ireland and England. Russ was an active member of Waverley Country Club and the Multnomah Athletic Club. He was a rabid follower of Stanford football having been a sportswriter for the Stanford Daily in college and of sports in general.
Russ will be remembered for his loyalty to friends, his sense of humor, warm smile, his quick wit and clever repartee.
