(AGENPARL) mar 25 aprile 2023 In 2022, over 8.2 thousand people died of COVID-19. This represents a sharp decline on the preceding two years, when COVID-19 resulted in 19.6 thousand deaths (2021) and 20.2 thousand deaths (2020), respectively. On the other hand, there was higher mortality due to other causes of death with the exception of neoplasms (particularly cancer). There were mainly more deaths due to diseases of the respiratory system. This is reported by Statistics Netherlands (CBS) on the basis of provisional figures.
