EU ban on products causing deforestation anywhere in the world
Immediately after the plenary opening, MEPs will review a new law obliging companies to ensure that products from cattle, cocoa, coffee, palm-oil, soya, wood, rubber, charcoal and printed paper sold in the EU do not come from deforested land anywhere in the world. Plenary is expected to adopt an agreed text on Wednesday.

Climate change: reform of the emissions trading system and new social climate fundIn a debate starting around 18.30, plenary will discuss a number of key laws of the “Fit for 55” package to fight climate change, specifically: the reform of the Emissions Trading System, including for aviation and the maritime sector; the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism; and the new Social Climate fund. The final vote on the five texts will take place on Tuesday.
