(AGENPARL) – BRUXELLES gio 30 marzo 2023 To benefit from the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), the unprecedented EU response to the crisis triggered by the pandemic, Czechia has decided to use the grant component of its national allocation without requesting loans. The targeted resources total €7 036 million and represent 1 % of the entire RRF. They amount to 3.1 % of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) in 2019 (the RRF being 5.2 % of EU-27 GDP in 2019). In June 2022, the maximum grant allocation available for Czechia was revised upwards to €7 676 million (+ 9 %). To receive RRF support, Czechia prepared a national recovery and resilience plan (NRRP), a broad programme of reforms and investments that seeks to underpin the recovery of the Czech economy, while advancing the green and digital transition and addressing a number of structural weaknesses. Alongside the EU support, Czechia’s plan includes a subset of reforms and investments worth €449 million to be financed from national resources. In February 2023, following the insertion of new RePowerEU provisions in the RRF Regulation, Czechia revised its plan, considering the possibility to ask for RRF loans to finance additional energy measures and include within RRF financing some components initially envisaged for national financing. Measures under the plan are to be completed by 2026. So far, Czechia has received 26.2 % of the resources in the form of pre-financing and one payment for grants (€1 843 million in total). A further eight payments will depend on the country’s progress in implementing the plan. This briefing is one in a series covering all EU Member States. Second edition.
