The event is intended to promote the use of innovation and technology in the agri-food sector to improve production in a sustainable way.
This is the second event supported by the American Italian Food Coalition and the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy aimed at promoting the knowhow of Italian brands to produce sustainable foods.
In this case, the workshop will address the importance of sustainability in the cocoa’s production chain. Even though Italy is not a pillar in the production of this precious raw material, the well-known Italian chocolate industry is conscious of the importance of this topic and Italian chocolate manufacturers have been on the cutting edge of sustainability for decades. Cocoa – a key ingredient – presents many challenges and opportunities. This series will explore global sourcing strategies, innovations and modern technologies that help Italian companies give their customers and consumers’ confidence that these “sweet treats” are made with sustainably sourced ingredients.
