On March 15, 2023, a press conference on the topic Technological Sovereignty of Belarus: Advancing Economic Development Through Industrial Modernization and Breakthrough Technologies was held at the BelTA press center.

The speakers from the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus were Sergey Poddubko, Director General of the United Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and Marat Belotserkovsky, Head of the Laboratory of the United Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the NAS of Belarus. At the press conference, the participants spoke about the tasks of the industrial sector in the context of modern realities, about modernization and innovative technologies, about the creation of export-oriented equipment, as well as about the support of enterprises in the implementation of innovative business projects in the high-tech sphere. The launch of the republican contest Leaders of the Industry of the Republic of Belarus 2023 was also announced. Noting the importance of the competition for the industry and economy of the country, Sergey Poddubko said: “Any competition is communication, it is always useful. It is also important to establish contacts, get to know each other, exchange knowledge, opinions, information, projects.”
