The Library of Congress is accepting applications for a General Engineer, GS-13, until March 13. 2023.
The General Engineer works under the general direction of the Chief, Facility Services Division in the Integrated Support Services (ISS) Directorate, Library of Congress (LC). Incumbent is responsible for the overall review and direction of major construction(s) or major renovation project(s) within the confines of LC facilities at Capitol Hill, Ft. Meade, Packard Campus, or other area(s) as assigned under the direction of the Chief, Facility Services.
The incumbent works closely with internal and external stakeholders on design and construction projects. The incumbent performs duties associated with design and construction projects to include reviewing building standards; evaluating and analyzing related architectural, engineering—HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and other components; construction drawings and plans; evaluating environmental activities; temporary and permanent service unit relocation plans and moves; ergonomics evaluations; and site surveying and verification. In carrying out all duties, the employee will ensure that safety and facility services are performed and executed according to best practices,, efficiently, and in full accord with all governing laws, policies, and regulations.
