The Library of Congress is accepting applications for an Administrative Support Assistant (Temporary Position), GS-07, until February 7, 2023.
The Congressional Research Service (CRS), American Law Division (ALD), is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant to serve as a central resource for implementing and maintaining administrative processes and procedures to support the day-to-day operational needs of the Division.
Responsibilities:
The Administrative Support Assistant supports a division that includes approximately fifty attorneys and five paralegal specialists who support the legislative needs of Congress. The selectee will be responsible for a wide range of administrative duties related to records management, time and attendance (Roll Call), office coordination, scheduling meetings and interviews, event logistical support, and front office coverage. The selectee will also be responsible for handling routine inquiries related to office support services, supplies, equipment, forms, and administrative approval processes and procedures.
CRS works exclusively for the United States Congress, providing policy and legal analysis to committees and Members of both the House and Senate, regardless of party affiliation. As a legislative branch agency within the Library of Congress, CRS has been a valued and respected resource on Capitol Hill for more than a century. CRS is well known for analysis that is authoritative, confidential, objective, and nonpartisan. Its highest priority is to ensure that Congress has immediate access to the nation’s best thinking on legal and public policy issues of interest to its Members and Committees.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Expected:
– Excellent organizational skills combined with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to prioritize work, with strong attention to detail.
– Ability to manage competing priorities and handle time sensitive information.
– Experience with working in a team-based environment and ability to interact collaboratively with others.
– Familiarity with Microsoft Office suites.
