Geneva, 19 January 2023 – A new status report from the World Health Organization (WHO) has found that billions of people globally remain unprotected by policies that eliminate harmful trans fat which increases their risk of heart diseases and death. While many countries have implemented best-practice policies for tackling trans fat in food, we are off track in terms of reaching the goal of total elimination in 2023.
Join us for a media briefing tomorrow to discuss the findings of the report, key statistics and progress towards the 2023 goal. Information will be released under strict embargo and the full report will be available from 1000 CET on Monday.
