Energizing health: Accelerating Electricity Access in Health-Care Facilities
A joint report Energizing health: Accelerating Electricity Access in Health-Care Facilities, will present the latest data on electrification of health-care facilities in low- and middle-income countries. It also projects investments required to achieve adequate and reliable electrification in health-care. Electricity is needed to power the most basic devices – from lights and communications equipment to refrigeration, or devices that measure vital signs like heartbeat and blood pressure – and is critical for both routine and emergency procedures. When health-care facilities have access to reliable sources of energy, critical medical equipment can be powered and sterilized, clinics can preserve lifesaving vaccines, and health workers can carry out essential surgeries or deliver babies as planned.
The report is jointly published by the [World Health Organization](https://worldhealthorganization.cmail19.com/t/d-l-ztuhijy-iitylyihjr-h/) (WHO), the [World Bank](https://worldhealthorganization.cmail19.com/t/d-l-ztuhijy-iitylyihjr-k/), the [International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)](https://worldhealthorganization.cmail19.com/t/d-l-ztuhijy-iitylyihjr-u/), and [Sustainable Energy for All (SEforAll)](https://worldhealthorganization.cmail19.com/t/d-l-ztuhijy-iitylyihjr-o/), and will be launched at the 13th session of the IRENA General Assembly which will take place from 14 to 15 January 2023 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The report will be available online as of 14 January, 16:30 CET, at the following [link](https://worldhealthorganization.cmail19.com/t/d-l-ztuhijy-iitylyihjr-b/).
