The Library of Congress is accepting applications for a Supervisory Copyright Specialist, GS-13, until November 20, 2022.
The Licensing Division of the Copyright Office administers the statutory licenses in the Copyright Act (Title 17 of the United States Code). The Division collects royalty fees from cable operators for retransmitting television and radio broadcasts (§111 ), from satellite carriers for retransmitting “superstation” and network signals (§ 119), and from importers and manufacturers of digital audio recording equipment who distribute digital audio recorders and blank digital audio recording media in the United States (§§1001-1010). The division also administers licenses for making and distributing phonorecords (§ 115), for making ephemeral recording (§ 112), for the public performance of sound recordings by means of digital audio transmissions (§114), and for the use of certain works in connection with noncommercial broadcasting (§118).
