Howdy!
Distinguished guests from the Pentagon today illustrate how The Texas A&M University System is seen as a major partner in developing breakthrough technologies for national security.
U.S. Army Secretary Christine Wormuth is visiting Texas A&M University and the Texas A&M-RELLIS campus along with Dr. Stefanie Tomkins, director the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, widely known as DARPA, and other top Defense Department officials.
They will tour the George H.W. Bush Combat Development Complex (BCDC), the new hub for collaboration between the military and R&D partners from universities, industry, national labs and the tech sector.
Myself and others will meet with them and make sure they hear about sweeping array of world-class capabilities there along the Brazos — resulting from $1 billion in recent RELLIS investments.
Yesterday and today Texas A&M is hosting a “DARPA Forward” conference to energize potential DARPA R&D partners from academia and business. The conference has 400 in-person participants and another 400 virtual attendees.
The word is out: We are here to serve the nation’s needs — militarily and commercially
