Head of Domestic Markets, Jonathan Kearns is giving a speech today – ‘Climate Change Risk in the Financial System’ – at the 7th Annual Credit Law Conference in Sydney.

‘Climate change can significantly affect the prices of assets if it reduces future cash flows and makes them more volatile. Climate risks affect the value of assets used as security for loans and thereby the potential losses that lenders face if borrowers can’t meet their repayments. Climate change can also affect the ability of households and businesses to meet their repayments because of the impact it can have on their incomes.’
