This week’s issue contains a reminder that children should be kept safely away from work activities in agriculture, as more of them may be on farms during the summer holiday.
In addition, we have guidance on protecting lone workers, details of recent prosecutions, and links to our latest job vacancies.

During the summer holiday, more children may be at home on the farm. Farmers should ensure that children are kept safely away from workplace activities.

Employers should provide training, supervision, monitoring and support for those working alone.

Corrosion under insulation (CUI) is prevalent on major hazard plant, including nuclear and chemical plants, oil refineries and offshore installations.
It continues to represent a major safety threat, having been responsible for a number of major hydrocarbon releases. It also presents industry with a range of business assurance and continuity challenges that bring significant costs each year.
HSE is hosting a workshop to discuss the options for a shared research project, where you can join us to discuss the challenges and identify opportunities.
