(AGENPARL) – BRUXELLES mer 22 giugno 2022 Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has caused a massive exodus of refugees, many of them children. EU Member States are dealing with urgent migration and border management challenges and facing the costs that these entail. Draft Amending Budget No 3/2022 (DAB 3/2022) to the EU’s 2022 general budget aims to assist EU Member States in receiving people fleeing the war in Ukraine. DAB 3/2022 strengthens the financing of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and the Border Management and Visa Instrument (BMVI). The additional €99.8 million in commitment appropriations and €76 million in payment appropriations for AMIF and €100 million in payment appropriations for BMVI will help to ensure that people fleeing Ukraine benefit from adequate first reception in one of the Member States. The European Parliament is expected to vote on the Council’s position on DAB 3/2022 during its June II plenary session.
