Through the Tallinn Scholarship, the ICDS offers three- to six-month research positions to young or mid-career professionals interested in carrying out policy-oriented research related to the foreign and domestic policies of Russia and other countries in Russia’s neighbourhood.
The Tallinn Scholarship is open to researchers from the CIS countries, Ukraine and Georgia. A key aim of the Scholarship is to develop cooperation between the ICDS and research institutions in these countries. A programme of research will be agreed between successful applicants and the ICDS that brings together the particular knowledge and experience of the applicant and the wider research and knowledge base of the ICDS. The ICDS expects to publish the results of the research of Scholarship recipients at the conclusion of their time in Tallinn.
As well as a short-term research position at ICDS, Scholarship recipients will receive travel and accommodation costs and a monthly honorarium.
The Scholarship is made available on a periodic basis with application deadlines announced on our website. To apply for the Scholarship, candidates will be asked to send a full CV (with photo) and a motivation statement that includes a description of the proposed topic of research area to <a during the application period. This time our deadline for applications is 21.07.2022 12:00 Estonian Time. Scholarship itself will start from 01.09.2022 and lasts until 01.01.2023.
Applicants must be fluent in both English and Russian.
