City of Toronto welcomes 53 new Primary Care Paramedics and Telecommunicator recruits following graduation ceremony
Today, Mayor Olivia Chow and Toronto Paramedic Services Chief Bikram Chawla welcomed 42 new Primary Care Paramedics and 11 new Emergency Medical Dispatchers to the City of Toronto. The event highlighted the City’s ongoing commitment to public safety and its continued investment in emergency services for Toronto’s residents and visitors.
Toronto Paramedic Services is staffed by highly skilled paramedics who deliver around-the-clock pre-hospital emergency care that can make the difference between life and death for seriously ill or injured individuals. Toronto Paramedic Services’ Central Ambulance Communications Centre serves as the critical link between the community and Paramedic-based health care. Emergency Medical Dispatchers and Call Takers use an accredited call triage system and modern telecommunications technology to provide immediate life support instructions to callers, ensuring timely access to emergency medical resources.
