Sacramento residents are invited to the City’s Water Wise Garden Showcase Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Department of Utilities (1395 35th Ave).This free event will bring together gardening professionals, irrigation experts and landscape designers ready to share tips and answer questions.Several educational talks will also be scheduled throughout the morning, including:🌱 Why Choose Native Plants? Find out how California natives can beautify your yard and thrive with less water.🦋 Buzz-Worthy Gardens: How to Create Your Own Pollinator Haven: Easy steps to attract bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and other pollinators to your yard.🌳 Simple Watering Tips for Young and Mature Trees: Practical guidance to keep your trees strong through every season.💦 Smart Controllers Made Simple: Learn the Settings That Save: Get hands-on advice to program your irrigation controller for maximum savings.Attendees can also purchase California native plants and sign up for tours of the City’s drought-tolerant garden.
People are encouraged to RSVP on the Department of Utilities’ Facebook page. A response is not required to attend but helps staff plan for the event.
