Mail-in Voting applications for Ward 25, Scarborough-Rouge Park by-election due September 4
Eligible voters in the by-election for Councillor Ward 25, Scarborough-Rouge Park are reminded they can apply to vote by mail until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 4.
Mail-in Voting
Until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, eligible voters can apply to vote by mail by visiting http://www.toronto.ca/VoteByMail or calling 416-338-1111 and selecting ‘5’ on the keypad.
Applicants can track the status of their Mail-in Voting package using the confirmation code received by email after completing the online application. Mail-in Voting packages will be sent starting Monday, September 8.
Voters’ list additions and updates
Voters must add their name to the list or update their name and address by 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 21 for it to appear on the printed voters’ list used in voting places on election day.
If their name is not already on the voters’ list, an eligible voter with acceptable identification can add their name to the voters’ list when they go to vote in person during:
– Advance voting on Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., or
– Election day on Monday, September 29 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Voter Information Cards
Starting Thursday, September 11, Voter Information Cards will be mailed to eligible voters who are on the voters’ list by Thursday, September 4.
Eligible voters who are on the voters’ list can visit the MyVote webpage (www.toronto.ca/MyVote) to review, print or download a digital copy of their Voter Information Card (VIC) to a mobile device that can be shown at the voting place along with acceptable identification.
Key details about VICs include:
– A VIC provides information about when and where to vote during advance voting or on election day.
– Eligible voters do not need a VIC to vote.
– A VIC is not an acceptable form of identification for voting purposes.
