Paolo Benanti wins the seventh editionof the International Prize “Economy and Society”promoted by the Centesimus Annus pro Pontifice Foundation
With his study “Human in the Loop. Human decisions and artificial intelligence” (Mondadori University) Father Paolo Benanti won the seventh edition of the International Prize “Economy and Society” promoted by the Centesimus Annus pro Pontifice Foundation.
The initiative set up twelve years ago is held on a biennial basis with the aim to award essays which stand out for their original contribution to in-depth analysis of the knowledge and application of the Social Doctrine of the Church having a solid doctrinal basis, whilst accessible to the wider public.
Artificial intelligence is present in every aspect of daily life and, as Paolo Benanti comments on his website (www.paolobenanti.com) which is dedicated to the themes of ethics, bioethics and technology: “I try to focus on the ethical and anthropological significance of technology for Homo sapiens: we are a species that has inhabited the world for 70,000 years, transforming it; the human condition is a techno-human one ….”.
