CUT welcomes Mr Llale Setumo as new Executive Director: Resources & Operations
The Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) welcomes Mr. Llale Setumo as the newly appointed Executive Director: Resources and Operations, effective 1 December 2024. With a robust professional background spanning 20 years, 15 of which have been dedicated to the higher education sector, Mr Setumo brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
During his tenure at Wits Business School, Mr Setumo served as the Operations Director, a role that saw him directly manage and supervise several key portfolios. His responsibilities included overseeing Human Resources, Finance, Marketing and Communications, Facilities, and ICT, demonstrating his strong leadership and managerial skills.
He has significantly influenced academic teaching, learning, and research initiatives in one of Africa’s leading institutions. At Wits Business School, he has successfully spearheaded critical projects. These include successfully outfitting teaching rooms and boardrooms with cutting-edge technology thus enabling a conducive environment for teaching and learning, upgrading the campus computer labs and improving the overall infrastructure for both online and in-person learning, thereby augmenting the overall infrastructure of the institution.
Mr. Setumo’s graduated from Nchaupe High School in Makapanstad, North West, in 1991 and went on to earn a BCom Accounting Degree in 2001 and a Master of Business Administration in 2015, both from the North-West University.
He has served in key leadership roles on the following committees: WBS EXCO, Chairperson of the School of Sustainability Committee, Faculty Executive and Faculty Board, Faculty Research Committee, Senior Management Group, and Wits Business School Advisory Board.
Mr Setumo’s core competencies span a broad range of disciplines, including financial and operational management, human resource development and transformation, risk mitigation strategies, strategic plan formulation and implementation, stakeholder engagement, and process optimisation.
