ResiliEnhance Field-Trip FVG 2023
6-7 November 2023 – Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy
In a complex and interconnected world, in which uncertainty and surprises are the new normal, the
capacity to face the changes and disruptions is becoming central.
The members of the ResiliEnhance Platform collaborate to explore effective ways and means for
strengthening territorial resilience to adverse events and critical situations in the context of complexity
and systemic risk. The Platform acts as a knowledge-sharing and knowledge-bridging tool. It operates
with networks among scientists, policy-makers, and experts from CEI’s Member States, United Nations
and European, and regional and local institutions.
During the ResiliEnhance Field-Trip FVG 2023, participants will engage in collaborative retrospective
post-event analyses of actual disaster governance case studies, employing an evidence-based approach.
The field trip will concentrate on the reconstruction efforts following the 1976 earthquake, delving into
specific narratives in the Friuli Region. The analysis aims to calibrate the Comprehensive ResiliEnhance
Framework (CREF), which functions as a lens for supporting knowledge tools to enhance the capacity to
address crises and adverse events, hence enhancing resilience to disasters for sustainable development.
