The European Parliament decided on Tuesday to terminate the term of office of Vice-President Eva Kaili.
The decision that [Eva Kaili (NA, EL)](https://www.europarl.europa.eu/meps/en/125109/EVA_KAILI/home) will no longer serve as one of Parliamentâ??s Vice-Presidents was approved by 625 votes in favour, 1 against and 2 abstentions, representing a double majority of two-thirds of the votes cast and a majority of Members composing the Parliament.
The vote was taken according to [article 21 of Parliamentâ??s rules of procedure](https://www.europarl.europa.eu/doceo/document/RULES-9-2022-07-11-RULE-021_EN.html), and it follows the ongoing investigations in Belgium involving some members and staff of the European Parliament.
The procedure has been triggered by a decision of the Conference of Presidents (EP President and political groupsâ?? leaders) earlier this morning, which approved the action unanimously.
