WHO and WMO launch a new knowledge platform for climate and health
The first global knowledge platform dedicated to climate and health – climahealth.info – will be launched by the Health Organization and World Meteorological Organization, with support from the Wellcome Trust.
It is in response to growing calls for actionable information to protect people from the health risks of climate change and other environmental hazards. Climate and health are inextricably linked. Climate change, extreme weather events and environmental degradation have fundamental impact on human health and well-being. More people than ever before are exposed to increased climate-related health risks, from poor water and air quality to infectious diseases and heat stress.
The information will be available [here](https://worldhealthorganization.cmail20.com/t/d-l-zcutiy-iitylyihjr-d/), at 9:00 am on Monday, 31 October.

World Cities Day
While the burden of malaria is currently still higher in rural areas, current trends in urbanization mean that in a few years most people living in malaria-endemic countries will reside in urban areas. On the occasion of World Cities Day 2022, WHO and UN Habitat launch the Global framework for the response to malaria in urban areas. The Framework provides guidance to city government officials, health professionals and urban planners for a comprehensive malaria response specifically in urban areas, where the dynamics of transmission and burden of vector-borne diseases can be different from that of rural areas.
There will be a webinar to launch the new framework at the following time on Monday; 15:00–16:30 CET / 9:00–10:30 EST. To register and find out more information, click [here](https://worldhealthorganization.cmail20.com/t/d-l-zcutiy-iitylyihjr-u/).
