As the exhibition enters its final days, don’t miss your last opportunity to step into the shadows and explore how cartography has disguised power, reshaped borders, and erased landscapes from the official record.
We are expecting the final weeks of the exhibition to be very busy and would recommend booking in advance to guarantee entry.
The exhibition is supported by Wayland Games ( https://britishlibraryemails.bl.uk/c/AQiz6A8Q_PqFARjpn7sFIMXM-B4omtPlDus3gC9hMO_cuTW2kW7Dp8idVYhNKxvUgodiTuA_3gKz ) and Tony & Maureen Wheeler.

Curator’s Pick
When you visit, don’t miss our Lead Curator Tom’s highlight item – a reconnaissance chart of the North Sea and English Channel drawn in preparation for Anne of Cleves’ sea route from the Netherlands to England.
The chart supposedly “marvellously inflamed” Henry VIII. Secretly surveyed by John à Borough, it maps the coastal channels that enabled a safer seaborne passage, avoiding a dangerous land route through politically tense France (the route eventually taken).
