PAHO to present findings on the measles situation in the Americas
WHAT: The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) will brief the media [https://paho-org.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Y9dwWL1FT26rS7KgE24slA#/registration]on the current measles situation in the Region of the Americas and present the conclusions and recommendations of the Measles, Rubella, and Congenital Rubella Syndrome Elimination Regional Monitoring and Re-Verification Commission (RVC).
The RVC, an independent body of experts established by PAHO, met from 4–7 November 2025 to review the latest national data, the current outbreak situation, and countries’ progress in sustaining elimination of measles, rubella and congenital rubella syndrome. Following its review, the Commission submits recommendations to the PAHO Director, who will review them and communicate the resulting decisions — including any changes in elimination status — to Member States and the public.
