FAO at the 2025 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30)
Belém, Brazil, 10–21 November 2025
The 2025 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), hosted by Brazil, will bring together world leaders, experts and organizations to advance global action on climate change.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will participate in COP30 to highlight the central role of sustainable and resilient agrifood systems in achieving climate goals and ensuring food security for the 1.2 billion people whose livelihoods depend on them.
On 7 November 2025, FAO Director-General, QU Dongyu will deliver a statement at the Belém Climate summit.
At COP30, FAO will work with countries and partners to keep agriculture and food security at the center of discussions on the Global Goal on Adaptation, loss and damage, nationally determined contributions (NDCs), National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), climate finance, technology and just transition.
FAO is supporting the COP30 Presidency’s Action Agenda, including new initiatives on Agriculture, Forests and Bioeconomy. The Food and Agriculture for Sustainable Transformation (FAST) Partnership, hosted by FAO, will continue to serve as a COP-to-COP mechanism ensuring agrifood systems remain central to negotiations and post-COP implementation.
The FAO-hosted Global Fire Management Hub has been recognized by the COP30 Presidency as a key delivery mechanism for the Call to Action on Integrated Fire Management and Wildfire Resilience to be announced at the Belém Leaders’ Summit.
FAO will co-host the Food and Agriculture Pavilion with CGIAR for the fourth consecutive year and contribute to the Forest Pavilion as Chair of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests.
