Bologna, Nov. 3rd, 2025 – Legendary challenges, breathtaking shots, individual talent at the
service of the team. In Davis Cup, every point is a chapter in history, every tie is a fragment of
legend. The top eight national teams are ready to battle it out with a single goal in mind: to win
the most coveted team trophy in men’s tennis. This year, the road to glory will culminate in
Bologna: from November 18th to 23rd, the ‘SuperTennis Arena’ in BolognaFiere will host the
Davis Cup Final 8 2025.
This morning, at the headquarters of the Emilia-Romagna Region, a press conference was
held to present the event, attended by the Councilor of the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation,
Raimondo Ricci Bitti, the Technical Director of the Tournament, Paolo Lorenzi, the President
of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Michele de Pascale, the Emilia-Romagna Regional Councilor
for Tourism and Sport, Roberta Frisoni, and the Bologna City Councilor responsible for tourism
and major sporting events, Mattia Santori.
Thanks to the collaboration between ITF (International Tennis Federation), FITP, Regione
Emilia-Romagna and the Municipality of Bologna, the capital of Emilia-Romagna confirms its
role as a benchmark for international tennis and a symbol of the Emilia-Romagna Sport Valley.
After hosting Group Stage from 2022 to 2024, Bologna takes over from Malaga and becomes
the venue for the final act of the 113th edition of the most prestigious team competition in men’s
tennis. Team Italia by Lavoropiù, reigning champions after their extraordinary double victory
in 2023-2024, will therefore have the opportunity to defend their title in front of their home
crowd in what promises to be a spectacular week.
8 TEAMS, ONE WORLD CHAMPION – Bologna welcomes the best of world tennis, with Slam
champions, Top 10 stars, and promising young players, ready to shine on the court at
BolognaFiere. The public will experience intense and exciting challenges, where experience and
talent will clash in a crescendo of emotions, celebrating sport in its purest and most engaging
form.
Below are the profiles of the teams that will take part in the Davis Cup Final 8 (according to ITF
regulations, a maximum of three nominated players can be changed until 11:00 am -Italian
time- on the day before the start of the Final 8 matches, i.e., Monday, November 17 th):
– Argentina will be competing in the Davis Cup Finals for the fourth time and will play in the
quarterfinals for the second consecutive year. The South American national team made history
in 2016, winning the title by winning all their away matches. The Argentine team will be led by
Captain Javier Frana and will feature Francisco Cerundolo, Tomas Martin Etcheverry,
Francisco Comesana, Horacio Zeballos and Andres Molteni.
– Austria is back in the spotlight, qualifying for the Finals for the second time since 2019 and
reaching the quarterfinals for the first time since 2012. Its best result remains the 1990
semifinals, led by Thomas Muster, which it lost by a whisker to the USA. The Austrian team will
be led by Captain Jurgen Melzer and will feature Filip Misolic, Jurij Rodionov, Lukas
Neumayer, Lucas Miedler and Alexander Erler.
– Belgium qualifies for the Finals for the fourth time and returns to the quarterfinals for the first
time since 2018. Despite playing in three finals and never winning (1904, 2015, and 2017), the
Belgian national team showed character by beating Australia in Sydney. The Belgian team will
be led by Captain Steve Darcis and will feature Zizou Bergs, Raphael Collignon, Sander Gille
and Joran Vliegen.
– France continues its winning streak: always present at the Davis Cup Finals (six appearances
in as many editions played since the competition changed format). With ten titles to their
name, Les Bleus are one of the most successful nations ever. The French team will be led by
Captain Paul-Henri Mathieu and will be able to count on Ugo Humbert, Arthur Rinderknech,
Benjamin Bonzi and Pierre-Hugues Herbert.
– Germany reaches the Finals for the fifth time and will play in the quarterfinals for the second
consecutive year. The three titles won with Boris Becker as the star player (1988, 1989, and
1993) confirm the historical value of the German team, which remains a certainty at the highest
level. The German team will be led by Captain Michael Kohlmann and will be able to count on
Alexander Zverev, Jan-Lennard Struff, Yannick Hanfmann, Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz.
– Team Italia by Lavoropiù is preparing to defend its title in front of its home crowd. Back-toback victories in Malaga in 2023 and 2024, together with the success in Santiago in 1976, make
the Italian national team one of the favorites for the final victory. The Italian team will be led by
Captain Filippo Volandri and will be able to count on Lorenzo Musetti, Flavio Cobolli, Matteo
Berrettini, Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori.
– The Czech Republic returns to the Davis Cup Finals for the third consecutive year, the fourth
overall since the new format was introduced in 2019. The three victories – in 1980 as
Czechoslovakia and in 2012 and 2013 as an independent nation – reflect the winning tradition
of this national team. The Czech team will be led by Captain Tomas Berdych and will feature
Jiri Lehecka, Jakub Mensik, Tomas Machac, Vit Kopriva and Adam Pavlasek.
– Spain remains one of the clear favorites, having won six titles (the last in 2019). In Bologna —
bolstered by its Davis Cup tradition – the Iberian national team is ready to confirm its prestige.
The Spanish team will be led by Captain David Ferrer and will be able to count on Carlos
Alcaraz, Jaume Munar, Pedro Martinez and Marcel Granollers.
ALL SET FOR THE SHOW TO BEGIN – The draw, conducted on September 17th by Tournament

FITP ACTIVITIES FOR YOUNGESTERS – During the event in Bologna, the FITP has also planned
several promotional initiatives aimed at youngesters. As part of the ‘Racchette in Classe’
project, and subject to availability, free tickets will be distributed to clubs affiliated with the FITP
and schools participating in the project. Among the most exciting initiatives are the under-1012-14 doubles rodeo tournaments, a regional gathering for the best under-18 tennis, padel,
and beach tennis players (November 18th), and the national TPRA Coppa delle Regioni
tournament (November 20-23). All participants in these initiatives will be invited to the matches
at BolognaFiere.
ST64: PASSION TO BE SAVORED – After making its debut at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, ST64,
SuperTennis’ signature cocktail, is ready to conquer Bologna. A drink designed to convey the
energy of major FITP events, the style of the audience that experiences them, and the passion
that ignites them. The ‘ST64’s concept recalls the origins of channel number 64, a detail that
links the drink to the very identity of the FITP’s official TV channel and makes the experience
unique and recognizable. With ‘ST64’, the ‘SuperTennis Bar’ will also return, a space designed
as a new reference point for the live experience. The cocktail can be enjoyed in the ‘Club 1900’s
hospitality area, allowing thousands of fans to experience tennis not only with their eyes but
also with their palates.
THE VALUABLE SUPPORT OF PARTNERS – In Davis Cup tennis, teamwork is essential both on
and off the court. A team in which all “elements” collaborate to transform a competition into a
unique experience, as much for the players as for the fans. For this reason, in organizing
international events such as the Davis Cup Final 8, the support of an established network of
partners is essential.
The success of the event is also based on the collaboration and support of entities that share
the same values of excellence. Rolex, Corpay, FAGE, Infront, MG and Stake confirm their
presence as Global Partners; MG, as Official Car, will provide transport services for the
competing teams.
On the occasion of the Bologna Finals, the HERA Group renews its commitment as a Regional
Partner, demonstrating its long-standing link with one of the most important sporting events in
the world. Italgas and Frecciarossa have joined alongside Hera Group this year. Dunlop,
Joma, Valmora, Villa Antinori, Technogym and TicketOne are among the Official Suppliers,
contributing to the competition with the quality of their products and services;
European Commission will be Institutional Partner of the event.
The event can also count on the contribution of the official Media Partners – Corriere dello
Sport, La Gazzetta dello Sport, la Repubblica and RTL – fundamental for the promotion and
valorisation of the event.

BolognaFiere on the event’s official ticketing website, accessible at the following link

TV COVERAGE – The Davis Cup Final 8 will enjoy extensive television coverage. All matches in
the competition will be broadcast live, unencrypted, and free for everyone on SuperTennis TV
(channel 64 on digital terrestrial television) and on the SuperTennis Plus multichannel,
accessible free of charge on all smart TVs. All Davis Cup 2025 matches will also be available for
streaming on the FITP digital platform, SuperTenniX.
Furthermore, if the Italian team is successful against Austria, Rai 1 will also allow all Italians to
