(AGENPARL) - Roma, 27 Ottobre 2025(AGENPARL) – Mon 27 October 2025 The City is exploring ways to allow more small businesses in neighborhoods
In 2024, the Sacramento City Council adopted the 2040 General Plan, a visionary policy document guiding the development of the city.
These policies aim to shape Sacramento into a national model of sustainable, equitable growth and community development.
Now, City staff is updating the Zoning Code (Sacramento City Code Title 17) to implement important policies of the General Plan like fostering a city of healthy, livable, “complete neighborhoods” that provide for residents’ daily needs within easy walking or biking distance from home.
The City is exploring strategies to increase opportunities for small businesses to locate in residential neighborhoods.
Already, residents are permitted to use their homes for some commercial services and office uses through home occupation permits (HOP).
But the City wants to bring even more types of businesses into neighborhoods to create communities that provide resident amenities close to home!
